Manchester City made it back-to-back titles last season after pipping Liverpool by a single point, but will they make it three in a row this campaign?

Another thrilling season of Premier League action has kicked off and Manchester Cityare looking to make it a hat-trick of titles.

Pep Guardiola’s men dramatically retained their title last term after being pushed all the way by Liverpool, who finished 25 points above third-placed Chelsea.

Who are the favourites to win the Premier League?

Liverpool have dropped only two points from their 16 games and are just 1/7 (1.14) to win their maiden Premier League title.

The Reds have yet to struggle for goals in any of their fixtures, scoring 40 times, but their usually mean defence has kept just three clean sheets all season - all of which came away from Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's side have beaten almost everyone that has stood in their way, with a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford the only blemish on the record so far, leading to the belief that they can topple the champions and go one better than last term.

Man City are out at 6/1 (7.0)with bet365 to win the Premier League for the third season in a row, having taken 38 points from their first 18 games of the campaign.

Guardiola's side have won 12 games and but have crucially already suffered four defeats, with Norwich City, Wolves, Liverpool and rivals Manchester United beating the champions to leave them fourth in the table and 11 points behind the Reds.

Backers of City, however, will still be aware that the Manchester side recovered from seven points behind last season to lift the title and that there is still a long way to go in this campaign.

Who are the Premier League outsiders?

Surprise package Leicester Citysit in second place with 39 points and have been cut to 50/1 (26.0) shots with bet365 to repeat their incredible 2015-16 campaign.

Brendan Rodgers' side have won 12 of their 18 games, including a club-record eight in a row, and boast one of the best goal differences in the Premier League at the moment after a record 9-0 win at Southampton.

Despite selling Harry Maguire in summer, the Foxes have the joint-best defence with just 14 goals against them and look set to be one of the main title challengers this season.

Tottenham are 500/1 (501.0) long shots to win the Premier League, which comes as little surprise considering they finished 27 points behind Man City last term.

Spurs have yet to find any consistency in their results so far, picking up just 26 points, prompting the club's hierarchy to replace Mauricio Pochettino with Jose Mourinho in November. 

Who are the Premier League underdogs?

It took four attempts for Chelsea to win a game at Stamford Bridge but they are going from strength-to-strength with 32 points to their name, meaning they sit fourth in the league.

Manchester United can be backed at 750/1 (751.0) after picking up just six wins in their last 23 Premier League games, including a surprising victory at Man City, although there are eight losses in that stretch including a 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.

Arsenal are out at 1000/1 (1001.0) to end what will be a 16-year drought by winning the Premier League title next May. 

The Gunners have lost just five times this season but have also won the same amount, with the club firing Unai Emery in late November after a run of seven games without victory in all competitions and hiring former captain Mikel Arteta to take his place.
